Lego Star Wars
Eidos announced recently it has secured the distribution rights to LEGO Star Wars with Giant Interactive Entertainment for all countries except Japan. The game will be released in April 2005 for the PS2, Xbox, PC, and GBA in April 2005.
"This signing of a title with such wide spread appeal and recognition is a major coup for Eidos," said Mike McGarvey, CEO of Eidos, who reportedly pronounced "coup" correctly. "We look forward to working with Giant on maximizing the game's potential."
The game is based on the movies The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and the upcoming Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, slated for worldwide release in May 2005. The only game details released were very general, saying the game is an "action-adventure title designed for young gamers". Under an agreement between LucasArts and Giant Interactive, LEGO Star Wars is currently being developed by Traveller's Tales for the PS2, Xbox and PC. Amaze Entertainment is developing the GBA version.
