Norton IS 2005
Norton antivirus has become a little more arbitrary in what it considers a virus and frankly, it’s about time. Norton Antivirus 2005 is a step forward compared to previous versions but still falls short on user friendly and system issues.
One new feature that Norton Antivirus has is Internet Worm Protection. This part of the Antivirus software notices when an unfamiliar program is attempting to transmit on the internet, a function that can be symptomatic of viruses such as the Blaster and Sassor.
For the average user this software will suffice but, Norton Internet Security tends to over-compensate, unnecessarily blocking internet connectivity much of the time.
Over the years many people have complained about Norton consuming system resources. This no longer appears to be an issue, * unless you are also running Norton System Works. Norton Antivirus and Norton Internet Security are relatively easy on computer resources.
One issue that is common in Norton products and remains unresolved, is when the software is not properly uninstalled at may cause your computer to target a 0.0.0.0 IP address and prevent you from accessing the internet. At this point unless you are an advanced user and are comfortable messing around in the registry it can cost the average user around $100 US to get this issue fixed.
