Football Manager 2006

Firstly, the Basics for those who do not know, Football Manager is not a graphically pleasing game.

It’s all about numbers, player stats and formations. You do not play the matches as a player; you watch them on a 2D match or via the commentary. It takes time and practise to perfect game!

FM 2006 introduces a totally revamped training engine. Manager contracts – See how much the board think your worth, half time
and full time team talks - Booster your team or even bring them back down to earth, "Quick" tactic mode.

Now you can shout from the touchlines to make small or full tactical changes without having to stop the match.

The FM community is active, strong and very friendly which is not only a huge bonus, but quite a rarity.

When starting out the game you can either make your own way by making use of the games scouting system or expect to spend a good few hours roaming the forums for advice on who to buy for your low league side.

If your friends think they have a better side then your own, you can challenge them to an internet match, though current reports suggest this system still needed some ironing out, so best wait a few patches first.

All in all, if you are a bit of a football fan and think yourself to be a frustrated manager, then Football Manager 2006 is the perfect game.

Be warned though, this game is not for the impatient or for those of you with short attention spans!
