Battlefield 2

Welcome to duty! In EA's highly anticipated and insanely addictive new release BATTLEFIELD 2: MODERN COMBAT, players get to once again join the war zone and havoc that is the battlefield series. As the name imply's, this one is based on modern, and up to date technology, ranging from M1 Abrahms Tanks to Cobra gun ships. You have the option to play several classes each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Special Ops soldiers come strapped with the almighty building and vehicle busting C4 demolitions, Assaulters have body armor, smoke grenades, and grenade launchers, support troops come with a 100+ round heavy machine gun, body armor, and the ability to restock other players ammunition, medics have full auto assault weapons and the ability to heal other players, even bring them back from death, engineers, (my personal favorite class) have the wonderful ability to lay mines destroying any vehicle that runs over them, even the hardy tanks, and to a game that is EXTREMELY vehicle oriented, this is a major plus, they also have the ability to repair friendly vehicles and fortifications. Last but not least we come to anti-armor ground operative, carrying a submachine gun and portable rocket launcher, these gentleman can be formidable opponents indeed.

Now this new Battlefield game has several very powerful incentives, one is the ability to increase in rank, and increase your skill grade, the more you play, the better you get, the higher your rank evolves. You start as a lowly private, and progress. Now this doesn't take place on each map, its a dynamic change that affects your EA games account! EA requires an EA game account to even log into the game (free to setup) and this gives you the ability to create a unique username that via- real time tracks every imaginable stat in the game, and lets you access them at the touch of a button. How many head shots with the m16? its there, how many players healed? its there? how many mines blew up enemy tanks? its there. What's my hit % when playing a medic kit on the oilfields map..you guessed it, ITS THERE! for stat trackers and elite players, this is one powerful tool. It also allows you to see the worlds best players ranked on a leader board in game in real time. Simply fantastic in my humble opinion.

Now on to another wonderful innovation the Commander / Squad options, join with groups of friends and command or be commanded in real time to mine area, destroy obstacles, assault positions, defend flags, blow bridges, and much much more! Then we have commander mode, send orders via a clickable interface to your squads, troops, and vehicles, send supply drops to their locations, launch artillery strikes, or send overall unmanned aerial vehicles to send radar positions of the enemy to your troops. Folks this is just the tip of the iceberg.

EA games has done something truly wonderful here, allowing the online gaming franchise to take another leap in real time action, if you're a FPS enthusiast, this is one of those few and rare titles that lives up to its expectations. Don't miss it!
